Advancing Innovation and Dialogue in 2026

The Life Sciences & Healthcare Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Austria has started 2026 with a strong focus on strengthening the dialogue at the intersection of healthcare innovation, economic competitiveness, and public policy.

Life sciences are among the most dynamic and strategically important sectors for both healthcare systems and economic development. In this context, the committee has continued its discussions on how emerging medical technologies, digital innovation, and data-driven healthcare can contribute to improving patient outcomes while reinforcing Austria’s attractiveness as a location for research, investment, and innovation.

As part of this work, the committee has initiated the development of a policy paper on the future of the Life Sciences sector in Austria. The paper will explore how technology, digitalization, and forward-looking policy frameworks can further strengthen Austria’s position within the global and transatlantic life sciences landscape.

Looking ahead, the committee is preparing several Health Talks, bringing together stakeholders from policy, academia, healthcare, and industry. Planned discussions include a session on gender medicine, highlighting the importance of integrating sex and gender differences into research and healthcare, as well as a dedicated Health Talk on the future Life Sciences strategy for Austria.

Through these initiatives, the committee aims to foster constructive dialogue and contribute to shaping a future-oriented environment for healthcare innovation and the life sciences sector.

We warmly invite AmCham members interested in these topics to join the conversation and engage with the committee’s upcoming activities.
